Selling a home can be an exciting yet stressful time. Each person who views your home is a potential buyer and first impressions are critical. By using proven and inexpensive home staging techniques, Rockland Home Staging will accentuate the positive aspects of your home, and present it to buyers in the best possible light. Our expertise will transform your home so buyers will see it as not simply one of many potential houses they have looked at, but as the Home they can envision as their own.

The National Association of Realtors reports that there are more homes on the market today than any there have been in the past 10 years.  Rockland County NY is no exception.  Home buyers are looking at more homes and sellers need to make their home stand out.

Regardless of price or location, all homes in Rockland County can benefit from professional home staging. Wheather you live in New City, Pomona, Pearl River or Nanuet, your home will benefit from the staging services provided by Rockland Home Staging.  Studies have shown that on average professionally staged homes sell 50% faster, and for up to 10% more.  Consider the cost of staging versus the lost revenue of a price reduction. We will work with you and your Realtor to sell your home for your target price.

What is a picture really worth?

NAR reported recently that there are more home on the market now than there have been in the last decade.  Realtors have to do everything possible to make their homes take center stage.  85% of home buyers start their search on the internet so staging the home and getting great photographs are critical.  It is hard to get good shots with a regular point and shoot camera.  I have been searching for a while and have finally found the perfect camera for home stagers and Realtors alike.

I just received my new Kodak EasyShare V705 wide angle camera the other day and I have to agree with Jeff Turner - This really is one fantastic camera.

Which one of these photos would pique your curiosity?

Bathroom Before                               Bathroom  almost done                    Bathroom after with wide angle lens

This bathroom transformation was completed for under $100.  Home staging does not need to be expensive to achieve dramatic results.

Living room before                                                        Living room after with wide angle lens

This is a no cost living room redo.  We got rid of the clutter then used things the homeowner had in in other rooms to complete the look.  This is a well lived in home.  The homeowners have 4 young children and a dog so it was important to keep it  all the seating.  It needed to feel like home while they are in the process of selling.

These before shots were the ones originally posted on MLS.  They really do not do the home justice.  It is a large colonial with generous rooms.  Hopefully with the home staging complete and new photos posted on MLS the home will sell quickly.

I think the Kodak V705 really is a great camera for home stagers and Real Estate professionals. When Jeff said Sell Your Camera On eBay & Buy This One!  I was sceptical.  I am so glad I took his advice!  Thanks Jeff.

Piermont NY - Quest for Snowy Owl

Today was a beautiful blustery winter day in Piermont NY.  You could feel the excitement in the air as the Henry Family set out to see the Snowy Owl that had taken up residence at the end of the Piermont Pier.  As a rule the Snowy Owl is only seen in Canada or in the Arctic.  Fortunately for us this owl had decided to fly south for the winter.  This lone female snowy owl had been hunting ducks for the last few weeks in the icy waters of the Hudson River.  As we began the mile long trek to the end of the pier in 20 degree weather I debated the sanity of my recreational choice for a February Sunday.  As we approached the end of the pier I could not believe how many fellow bird enthusiasts had also braved the cold to see our northern visitor.  One of the women there said that this bird was a Lifer.  A bird that you see only once in a lifetime.  The atmosphere was pregnant with anticipation. Everyone was waiting for the owl to move.  He had been quietly perched on a pier for hours now.  I was just about to call it a day when the bird took off.  It flew about 20 yards only inches from the frozen river and snatched a duck right out of the water.  The only sound you could hear was the clicks of cameras firing all around.  We were lucky to have bee there at the right time.  The kids were elated and I have to admit so were the adults.  The fellow owl watchers were a knowledgeable and friendly group.  Everyone was willing to share their telescopes and their knowledge.  It was a great day for the Henry Family.  One we will not soon forget.
